This information became known during the extraordinary XXI session of the city council of deputies of the X convocation.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that cars left in prohibited areas will be sent to the new penalty parking lot. The purchased tow trucks will assist in the evacuation of such vehicles, which, in turn, should contribute to improving order on the streets of the city and increasing budget revenues. Official approval from the city council is required to commence operations.
According to the first deputy mayor Kubanych Imanaliev, a plot of land measuring 30 acres for the penalty parking lot has been allocated by the municipal auto market, and the necessary infrastructure has already been prepared. The two tow trucks were acquired through leasing.
“Evacuations will be carried out within the framework of the public utilities department. We present this proposal for your discussion to prevent misunderstandings. The work will be conducted according to the rules established by the city council. The main goal is to organize the situation regarding traffic rule violations and increase budget revenues. The fee for the evacuation of one vehicle is 1600 soms, and the storage rates are 9 soms per hour for motorcycles and 21 soms for cars. These rates are standard for the entire republic. Previously, this activity was carried out by private companies, but now we aim for the funds to go directly to the city budget. Private companies will be able to continue their work,” he noted.
Kubanych Imanaliev also reported that the municipal penalty parking lot will begin operations in January 2026.
Additionally, this year, a four-story parking facility is planned to be built in Manas, with two floors underground and four above ground, which should help reduce traffic congestion.
