In Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations has proposed that educational institutions, both higher and secondary vocational, abandon the practice of imposing fines on students for missing classes and practical training, regardless of their organizational and legal form.

According to the ministry, this recommendation is aimed at protecting students' rights and creating fair approaches to discipline in the educational process, as well as preventing unjustified financial penalties in the field of education.

Furthermore, the ministry advises using alternative measures related to academic consequences without resorting to financial sanctions, in accordance with current legislation.

As part of this initiative, the ministry plans to amend the regulatory legal acts governing the work of higher and secondary vocational education organizations.

Previously, the issue of fines for students for absences in studies was raised in parliament. Deputy Dastan Bekeshev noted that only academic sanctions should be applied, not monetary ones.
