Soon, the World Nomad Games will kick off in Kyrgyzstan, promising to be a true celebration of sports and culture. This year, 49 million soms are allocated for prizes for winners and runners-up. An important innovation will be that for the first time at the Games, the "great player of kok-boru" and the "great horse of kok-boru" will be determined. This innovation aims not only to increase the motivation of athletes but also to enhance public interest in the main sports.
The size of the prize payouts confirms the high status of the event: in horse racing, first-place holders can receive up to 1 million soms depending on the distance, while in the team competition for kok-boru, the grand prize will be 5 million soms. Additionally, at the initiative of Kazakhstan, kokpar will participate in the competitions for the first time this year. Kyrgyz teams are already fully staffed and actively preparing.
The main events of the Games will take place in several key locations in the Issyk-Kul region. Competitions will be organized at the racetrack in Cholpon-Ata, at the Gazprom sports and health complex in the village of Baktyu-Dolonotu, and at the Rukh Ordo cultural center. The site in the Kychyn gorge, located in the Semenov gorge, will be particularly colorful, where an authentic atmosphere of nomadic culture will be recreated.
