The Ministry of Defense Discussed Preventing Suicides Among Personnel of Law Enforcement Agencies
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense, the event was led by Tairiel Otonbaev, who holds the position of Chief of the General Staff and is the First Deputy Minister of Defense. The main goal of the meeting was to develop effective measures and coordinate actions aimed at reducing the incidence of suicide among military personnel.
Representatives from various government agencies participated in the round table, including the Ministry of Defense, the Border Service of the State National Security Committee (GKNB), the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the Ministries of Education, Science, Higher Education and Innovation, Culture, Information, and Youth Policy. Also present were employees of the Military Prosecutor's Office, the Main Directorate for Combating Economic Crimes of the GKNB, representatives of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims, and faculty members from KNU, BGU, KRSU, and other public organizations.
During the event, reports from officials of the Ministry of Defense were presented and discussed. The main focus was on issues related to the conscription of citizens for compulsory and alternative military service, as well as improving the quality of the selection of conscripts. Aspects of educational work and the organization of medical and preventive measures in military units were also discussed.
Additionally, reports from representatives of the Military Prosecutor's Office and the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the GKNB were heard. In conclusion, the participants expressed their readiness for further cooperation in the area of preventing offenses and combating suicides among military personnel.
