
Inspectors from the Regional Department for Combating Livestock Theft, together with representatives from the Main Department of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service, conducted monitoring to prevent livestock theft.
As part of the operation, four mobile groups were formed with the participation of patrol police officers, who checked the following locations:
Lenin District - Osh Market,
First of May District - "Altyn Taka" Market,
Sverdlovsk District - "Alamedin" Market,
October District - "Orto-Sai" Market.
During inspections at the wholesale meat market "Altyn Taka," attempts to import cattle meat without the necessary veterinary documents were discovered.
Specifically, a Mercedes-Benz vehicle was transporting 16 carcasses of cattle, of which only 14 had confirming veterinary documents. In another case, a Sprinter vehicle transported 5 carcasses of cattle, with one of them having an expired document.
Additionally, there were recorded cases of transporting three horses without the appropriate veterinary documents. At the Osh Market, an attempt to sell a horse carcass without the necessary documents was also stopped.
Inspectors conducted explanatory conversations with the owners of the mentioned cargo, and information about the violations was forwarded to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The department emphasized that veterinary and phytosanitary control is aimed at ensuring the population has access to high-quality and safe food products, combating illegal trade, protecting public health, and developing livestock farming.
Such monitoring activities will continue to prevent livestock theft and ensure compliance with veterinary standards.
