China is ready to continue operations for children with heart defects from Kyrgyzstan

Recently, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, where Minister Damir Osmonov spoke with Liu Jiangping, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China to Kyrgyzstan.

During the discussion, representatives of the two countries reviewed the current state and future prospects of cooperation in the field of healthcare between Kyrgyzstan and China.

Cooperation is carried out within the framework of an agreement between the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan and the National Health Commission of China, and is also actively developed through the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation and within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Damir Osmonov emphasized the important role of the Chinese side in improving the country's healthcare system, including humanitarian initiatives, the supply of medical equipment and medications, as well as the organization of educational programs for Kyrgyz specialists in Chinese medical institutions.

The Chinese side proposed a number of new initiatives to deepen practical cooperation. In particular, details of the implementation of the "Express Health - Bright Journey" project were discussed, which includes conducting free surgeries for patients with cataracts and continuing medical assistance to children with congenital heart defects.

It was previously reported that annually, 10 children from Kyrgyzstan suffering from severe heart defects will undergo surgeries in China.

In addition, the parties discussed the possibility of cooperation with the People's Hospital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, including the organization of mutual visits and the creation of joint medical projects, such as a joint hospital.

The issue of establishing a Kyrgyz-Chinese research center for traditional medicine and developing cooperation in the field of pharmaceuticals and the use of medicinal plants was also raised.

At the end of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations aimed at developing medical infrastructure, improving the quality of medical services, and expanding access for the population to modern medical technologies.
