The delegation was headed by Dinara Kemelova, the special representative of President Sadyr Japarov on mountain issues.
Participants of the congress discussed the importance of finding a balance between innovation, sustainability, and the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage of mountain regions. This event brought together representatives from governments, experts, and participants in the mountain industry to develop solutions for sustainable tourism.
During a meeting with the Prime Minister of Andorra, Xavier Espot Samora, Dinara Kemelova conveyed an invitation from Sadyr Japarov to participate in the second Global Mountain Summit "Bishkek+25," which will take place in 2027, and proposed to deepen the partnership between the two countries in promoting the mountain agenda on the international stage.
Additionally, she held talks with the Secretary-General of the "UN Tourism" organization, Sheikha Al Nuwais, where measures to support mountain communities aimed at developing tourism, including cultural and historical sites, were discussed.
The need to unlock the potential of Kyrgyzstan's mountain territories was emphasized, especially in the context of the historical sites of the Great Silk Road, the creation of infrastructure, as well as highlighting the significance of the Battle of Talas and other cultural landmarks. Issues related to the development of ecotourism, agritourism, geoparks, and training for mountain communities were also considered.
Dinara Kemelova held a series of meetings with officials from Andorra, Germany, Switzerland, Montenegro, Italy, as well as representatives from UNEP and OSCE, to promote bilateral and multilateral cooperation, gain support for Kyrgyzstan's mountain initiatives, and ensure the participation of foreign states, international organizations, and experts in the preparation for the "Bishkek+25" summit.
