At the beginning of 2026, the tourism sector in Kyrgyzstan remains stable, demonstrating consistent demand, although travelers' preferences have changed. This was reported by Talant Ozokeiev, the founder of a well-known tourism company.
According to him, although the New Year holidays did not bring a significant increase compared to the previous year, they did reveal a new leader among foreign destinations.
“Overall, demand has remained at last year's level, with no sharp fluctuations observed, but the structure of preferences has noticeably changed. Vietnam, particularly Phu Quoc Island, has become the undisputed favorite this year,” he noted.
In second place in popularity is Egypt, which continues to be a reliable choice for many tourists. Dubai ranks third, although interest in this destination has decreased compared to the previous year.
“Currently, only one airline operates flights to Dubai, which immediately affected demand. There is also a decline in interest in Thailand. This destination remains popular, but not to the extent it was before,” explained Talant Ozokeiev.
Additionally, the tour operator noted that tourists' choices vary depending on age and family composition. For example, families with children more often choose Egypt and Phu Quoc due to convenient infrastructure and comfortable conditions, while young people tend to lean towards more active destinations such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Dubai, where there are many entertainment and active leisure options.
