In the coming days, residents of Kyrgyzstan will work on a reduced schedule as the New Year holidays have been extended until January 12, 2026.
This became possible thanks to a resolution adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers, which adds two days off — January 8 and 9 — for employees of state and municipal organizations, as well as institutions funded by the state budget.
This decision is aimed at creating conditions for family recreation during the winter school holidays and supporting the family as a social unit.
Additionally, private companies are also encouraged to implement a similar approach to enhance the comfort of their employees and improve the work-life balance.
The resolution will come into effect on January 1, 2026.
