Starting from 2026, Uzbekistan will introduce a visa-free regime for all U.S. citizens

Starting from January 1, 2026, citizens of the United States of America will be able to travel in Uzbekistan without a visa for up to 30 days. This was reported in a decree by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed on November 3, according to information from the UzA agency.

This decision is aimed at strengthening trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian ties between the two countries, as well as developing the tourism sector, as stated in the document.

Currently, visa-free entry is available only for Americans over 55 years old who come to Uzbekistan for tourism purposes. This rule has been in effect since 2021.

According to the new decree, starting in 2026, the visa-free regime will be extended to all U.S. citizens regardless of their age or purpose of visit.

The plan to expand visa-free entry was discussed in the president's decree on significantly increasing the number of tourists, signed in May 2023. In the same decree, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was instructed to begin negotiations with the U.S. to simplify visa requirements for Uzbeks.

It should be noted that the introduction of the visa-free regime comes ahead of the "Central Asia - U.S." summit ("C5+1"), which will take place on November 6 in Washington with the participation of U.S. President Donald Trump and the heads of state of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Additionally, at the end of October 2025, the government of Uzbekistan added seven new countries to the list of those whose citizens can visit the republic without a visa for 30 days. These include Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, China, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
