Does the plant at the sanitary landfill in Bishkek harm the environment? Checked by the Ministry of Nature

On January 19, 2026, specialists from the Department of Environmental Monitoring took samples of emissions from the waste processing plant located at the sanitary landfill in Bishkek. This was reported by the Ministry of Nature of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The studies are aimed at determining the impact of this enterprise on the environmental situation in the region.
During the monitoring, laboratory tests are conducted on a number of parameters, including nitrogen oxide, sulfur oxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, and suspended particles (dust).
On January 16, 2026, a comprehensive monitoring of the area around the plant was also carried out: additional samples of atmospheric air, soil, and water from the Ala-Archa reservoir were collected.
To minimize potential negative impacts on nature, regular environmental monitoring will be conducted every month.
