The Cabinet approved requirements for the safe transportation of radioactive materials

On January 28, 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers approved Resolution No. 30 concerning the safe transportation of radioactive materials, substances, and sources of ionizing radiation.

This document aims to ensure safety during the transportation of radioactive materials and to align national legislation with international norms and standards in the field of radiation safety.

According to the resolution, the responsible state authorities tasked with its implementation are the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The implementation of the resolution will be financed within the framework of budget allocations provided for the relevant year and subsequent years. The resolution will come into effect 10 days after its official publication.
