Kyrgyzstan has completed the preparation of the VII report on the implementation of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity

A national seminar dedicated to the validation of the VII National Report of Kyrgyzstan on biological diversity was held in the capital of the country, showcasing the country's achievements in the field of international environmental commitments.

According to information from the press service of the Ministry of Nature, this report serves as a key tool for assessing Kyrgyzstan's progress within the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.

This report will be presented at the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in 2026, where it will contribute to the global review of achievements.

During the seminar, participants, including representatives of government agencies, scientists, experts, and partner organizations, discussed:

- achievements in ecosystem conservation and the expansion of the protected natural areas network;

- measures for forest restoration and sustainable use of natural resources;

- protection of species diversity, including the restoration of the snow leopard population;

- threats to biodiversity caused by climate change;

- integration of biodiversity issues into state policy, educational programs, and public awareness;

- financial and institutional mechanisms for implementing national priorities.
