As reported by the ministry's press service, the event was attended by representatives from various government agencies, international organizations, the scientific community, and climate change specialists.
The statement emphasizes that Kyrgyzstan, as a participant in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement, is fulfilling its obligations to ensure transparency and prepare reports under the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF).
All participating countries are required to submit biennial transparency reports and national documents, which allows for accurate and regular reporting on greenhouse gases, climate change mitigation measures, adaptation actions, and support received.
The first Biennial Transparency Report (BTR1) was prepared by Kyrgyzstan in 2025. Now, based on the findings of BTR1, the Ministry of Nature is beginning to develop the combined BTR2/NC5, with a focus on integrating data and analytical tools into the overall climate policy management framework.
The main objectives of the project include:
- establishing regular cycles of climate reporting at the institutional level
- expanding analytical research and improving data visualization
- considering gender, regional, and socio-economic factors
- strengthening the link between reporting and the implementation of climate policy, as well as national priorities reflected in the NDC 3.0
- utilizing open data to attract climate financing and investments in sustainable low-carbon development
