The establishment of this committee became possible thanks to the agreement on climate cooperation signed between the two states in 2024. The Secretariat of the new body has been appointed as the Climate Finance Center, which operates under the Cabinet of Ministers. All relevant ministries and agencies will be required to provide the necessary support to the committee.
Composition of the Kyrgyz delegation to the Joint Committee on Climate
- Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, responsible for state policy in the field of ecology and climate (co-chair from the Kyrgyz side);
- Deputy Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, responsible for issues of external financial and technical assistance within the framework of state investments;
- Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, overseeing policy in the field of green economy;
- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Korea;
- Director of the Climate Finance Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
