As part of the implementation of the eco-campaign "Zhashyl-Muras," in 2025, 25,236 seedlings were planted in protected natural areas, covering a total area of 39.09 hectares.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources, 16,450 seedlings of forest species were planted in state natural parks over an area of 23.79 hectares, while tenants contributed by planting 8,786 seedlings on 15.3 hectares.

Protected natural area (PNA) is a site that the state protects to preserve unique natural resources, rare species of flora and fauna, as well as ecosystems and landscapes.

In such areas, economic activities are typically restricted or completely prohibited, including hunting, logging, construction, and mineral extraction. However, scientific research and ecotourism may be permitted.

In Kyrgyzstan, several categories of PNAs are distinguished:

- State nature reserves — the most stringent form of nature protection.

- National parks — environmental protection with the possibility of tourism.

- Wildlife sanctuaries — protection of specific species of animals, plants, or ecosystems.

- Natural monuments — unique natural objects such as waterfalls, cliffs, and lakes.
