Serious measures are being taken to combat poaching at Issyk-Kul. The press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic reported this.

According to the information from the agency, the Issyk-Kul regional office of the ecological and technical supervision service regularly conducts raids. As a result of activities carried out in the first three months of 2026, more than 6,000 meters of old synthetic nets of Chinese origin were removed from the lake.

These nets cause significant damage to fish stocks and pose a threat to the ecosystem of the water body.

The ministry emphasized that the fight against illegal fishing will continue, control will be strengthened, and raids will be conducted regularly.
