In Bishkek, a two-day B5+1 business forum has kicked off, gathering representatives from the business community and government structures of Central Asian countries and the United States. As part of this event, a press conference was held featuring the U.S. Special Representative for South and Central Asia, Sergio Gor, and heads of delegations from all Central Asian states.
According to the Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, Bakyt Sadykov, the B5+1 format marks a new stage in regional cooperation, where business plays a crucial role as a driver of economic change.
“Business today is not just a participant but an active co-author of reforms in the economy. The B5+1 format provides entrepreneurs in Central Asia with a unique opportunity to directly propose solutions to governments and international partners,” the minister noted.
He also highlighted three main significances of the B5+1 forum for Kyrgyzstan.
Strengthening regional interaction.

The economies of Central Asia are becoming increasingly interdependent. The fields of logistics, trade, energy, and digital technologies require coordinated measures and joint actions. The B5+1 forum facilitates the transition of regional dialogue into the realm of concrete business initiatives.
Improving the quality of the business climate.
Recommendations from the business community aim to minimize administrative barriers, develop financial instruments for small and medium-sized enterprises, expand market access, and digitize government services. These measures fully align with the current reforms being implemented in Kyrgyzstan.
Expanding international cooperation.

The participation of the United States and the involvement of regional businesses enhance investor confidence and open new opportunities for trade, investment, and technology transfer.
“The main message of the forum is crystal clear: Central Asia is a space for cooperation, reforms, and growing opportunities for international business,” concluded Minister Bakyt Sadykov.
