According to him, the region has 269 reservoirs with a total volume of 253.145 million cubic meters. Currently, 168.81 million cubic meters of water have been accumulated.
The planned sowing area for the upcoming season will be 418,764 hectares, of which 269,698 hectares are designated for irrigation. A total of 850 million cubic meters of water will be allocated for irrigation needs, which is 36 percent higher than last year's figures.
To repair and restore irrigation systems, 120 million soms have been allocated from the state budget. In the region, it is planned to repair 231.5 kilometers of water canals, clean 609 kilometers of drainage systems, and repair 579 hydraulic structures. Additionally, 740 kilometers of inter-farm canals will be manually cleaned.
Sanjar Zhantaev also emphasized the importance of implementing drip and sprinkler irrigation. Farmers will be trained in modern water-saving technologies, an electronic queue for irrigation is planned to be introduced, and a daily regulating reservoir will be constructed in the Issyk-Ata district.
