In Kyrgyzstan, the development of five new coal deposits began in 2025

At a meeting of the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, Energy Minister Talaybek Ibraev announced the expansion of solid fuel extraction geography in Kyrgyzstan. In 2025, the state enterprise "Kyrgyzkomur" will take over the management of five new coal deposits: Torugart, Markai, Beshburkhan, Kojo-Kelen, and Suluktu-11.

Currently, "Kyrgyzkomur" holds 22 licenses, of which 15 allow for full-scale extraction, while 7 permit geological exploration. Last year, the company exceeded its planned production targets: overburden works amounted to 120.6% of the plan, and the actual coal production volume reached 116% of the established schedule.

The total volume of coal extracted from these sites was 1 million 373 thousand 900 tons. Effective resource distribution played a crucial role in maintaining the country's energy security. In particular, 617 thousand tons of coal were shipped for the needs of the capital's CHPP, while more than 429 thousand tons were directed to budget institutions and social facilities. A reserve of 327.4 thousand tons was kept in specialized warehouses.
