Ministry of Economy: Kyrgyzstan will continue to develop cooperation in the EAEU

Kyrgyzstan is focused on further deepening its integration within the Eurasian Economic Union. This was announced during a briefing at the "Sputnik" press center by the First Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce, Choro Seitov, who spoke about the key areas of the country's work within the union.

The most important issue on the agenda remains ensuring the quality and safety of products. Relevant agencies will concentrate their efforts on phytosanitary control, as well as on improving the mechanisms for certification and standardization of goods, including products of animal origin. Bishkek also plans to intensify efforts to remove trade barriers within the union, proposing to revise the methodology for resolving disputed situations and to bring them more frequently to the discussion of the supranational bodies of the EAEU.

Creating a comfortable business environment is also a focal point. Among the planned activities is the implementation of a system for assessing the impact of EAEU agreements on entrepreneurial activities and the exchange of best practices with partners in the "five." In the field of transport logistics, the emphasis will be on developing transport corridors, modernizing infrastructure, and digitizing all procedures related to cargo transportation.

The areas of humanitarian and technological cooperation cover the protection of intellectual property, including scientific works and trademarks, as well as the unification of rules for the circulation of pharmaceuticals. In the energy sector, the countries of the union will continue to work on creating a common market, which will allow for more effective balancing of resource production and consumption, as well as promptly addressing internal shortages.

Digitalization will also affect the area of public procurement: the creation of a unified platform should provide companies from EAEU countries with free access to each other's tenders. In the agro-industrial complex, the focus is on food security, industrial cooperation, and the introduction of modern technologies in agriculture.

Choro Seitov separately noted the importance of interaction with the Russian Federation, which remains a strategic partner and the largest market for Kyrgyz producers. According to the Ministry of Economy, this status will remain with Russia at least until 2030. Currently, a significant portion of joint projects is being implemented through the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, and companies from Russia are actively participating in Kyrgyzstan's energy sector, including the construction of small hydropower plants and renewable energy facilities. In addition, major marketplaces such as Wildberries and Ozon remain important channels for exporting Kyrgyz goods.
