More than a million juvenile sturgeon have been released into the Orto-Tokoy Reservoir in the Naryn region. According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, within one day, employees of the company "Orto-Tokoy Intymagy" engaged in stocking the reservoir, releasing 1.2 million juveniles, each weighing about 0.45 grams.
This process was carried out under the strict supervision of a special commission, which included experts from the Department of Fisheries and employees of the ecological tourist police. This event became part of the forecast plan for 2025–2026, developed for the artificial reproduction of fish stocks in the state water bodies of the republic.
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry initiated this project with the aim of not only increasing the industrial potential of the reservoir but also maintaining the biological balance in the region's ecosystem. Specialists emphasize the importance of regular stocking as a key element for the sustainable development of the fishing industry in Kyrgyzstan and the preservation of the natural balance of high-altitude water bodies.
