In 2026, Kazakhstan assumed the presidency of the Eurasian Economic Union, announcing the priorities of its leadership. Danil Ibraev, a member of the Presidium of the Business Council of the EAEU, shared this information at a press conference.

He noted that the union faces the task of maintaining the growth rates achieved in previous years.

The creation of a transport framework integrated into the global logistics network has become one of the main areas of work.

This includes the liberalization of the unified system of transport services, allowing trucks to provide services in neighboring countries along their routes. These initiatives are aimed at reducing costs, speeding up processes, and creating more favorable conditions for the movement of goods among the five member countries.

Another important direction of the presidency is the development of artificial intelligence.

This sector is considered one of the fastest-growing in the global economy. Danil Ibraev noted that by the end of 2025, the volume of this sector amounted to about $10 trillion, and the application of these technologies needs to be expanded within the framework of the integration process. This affects various areas, including industry, services, trade, and finance.

Moreover, the full implementation of the agreement on the four freedoms remains relevant.

This implies ensuring seamless transport corridors and complete freedom of movement for goods so that they can circulate freely in all five states of the union.
