Starting from January 1, 2026, new rules for non-alcoholic beverages intended for children will come into effect in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by the State Tax Service, clarifying that an excise tax and mandatory labeling will be introduced for such products.

This requirement stems from the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated February 22, 2022, according to which excise is applied to products registered as baby food, as well as to goods classified under customs code 2202.

From the moment the new rules are introduced, it will be prohibited to produce and import beverages without excise stamps.

Additionally, a transitional period is provided: until May 1, 2026, the sale of remaining unlabeled products on the territory of Kyrgyzstan is permitted.

The Tax Service strongly recommends that manufacturers, importers, and sellers comply with the new requirements. In case goods without the appropriate labeling are discovered, measures will be taken in accordance with current legislation.
