According to decree No. 205, adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers on March 30, 2026, employees of the Hydrometeorological Service under the Ministry of Emergency Situations, who do not have the status of civil servants, will be able to expect a significant increase in their salaries. The established monthly bonus will amount to 20,000 soms.
This decision was made in accordance with the directive of President Sadyr Japarov, and its main goal is to enhance the efficiency of specialists and strengthen the personnel capacity of the agency. In the context of global climate changes and the increasing importance of environmental monitoring, such a measure becomes particularly relevant. The bonuses are directed to technical and maintenance personnel who ensure the uninterrupted operation of meteorological stations and observation systems throughout the country.
The document has an important feature — its retroactive effect. The accrual of bonuses will begin on January 1, 2026, which means that employees will soon receive accumulated payments for the previous months all at once.
To implement this decision, the government has made adjustments to the basic decree on labor payment conditions (No. 434 from 2022). The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan has been instructed to promptly amend the republican budget for 2026 and the planning period up to 2028 to ensure stable funding for these payments. The control over the implementation of the decree is assigned to the Presidential Administration, and the document will come into force upon its official publication.
