In Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar, the Second World Summit on Social Development was inaugurated, attended by Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov. The delegation of Kyrgyzstan also included Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva and Minister of Labor, Social Security and Migration Kanat Sagynbaev.
Leaders of states, heads of international organizations, as well as representatives of civil society and experts gathered at the summit to discuss global initiatives to combat poverty, hunger, and ensure social justice.
During the opening ceremony, welcoming speeches were delivered by the UN Secretary-General, the President of the General Assembly, the Emir of Qatar, and the Chair of the UN Economic and Social Council.
Edil Baisalov, in his speech, emphasized that Kyrgyzstan actively supports the goals of the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty and is implementing significant reforms in the fields of education, healthcare, and social protection.
It is expected that a Political Declaration reflecting the commitments of UN member states to strengthen social policy, improve access to education and healthcare, and mobilize resources for sustainable development will be adopted at the final session of the summit.
