The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, spoke about the problems faced by migrants from Kyrgyzstan in Russia.

He noted that the regulation of migrants' stay in the country is an important topic that is regularly discussed, including during bilateral negotiations. During yesterday's expanded talks with Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Minister of Internal Affairs made a special statement on this issue.

According to Peskov, Russia aims to uphold the fundamental principles of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) while also regulating the situation with labor migrants, including those from Kyrgyzstan.

He emphasized: “Our goal is to simplify compliance with all laws and requirements for migrants. Unfortunately, there are situations where we fall short. Currently, there is a significant number of people who do not have proper registration – this amounts to tens of thousands. We are working on solving this problem, and our good and constructive cooperation allows us to do this. The problem exists, but it should not be exaggerated. Both sides need to make efforts,” Peskov added.
