The court imposed a fine of 4,000 calculation indicators on Abdyvapov, which is equivalent to 400,000 soms, and deprived him of the right to hold certain positions and engage in specific activities. Additionally, he was stripped of all state awards and titles.
As for Islambek Kydyrgychev, he was also fined 3,000 calculation indicators (300,000 soms) and faced similar restrictions on holding public office.
Both former officials were detained during the investigation related to corrupt activities in the State Tax Service. According to law enforcement agencies, Abdyvapov was found to have assets worth approximately 55 million dollars, and their origin raised significant questions.
In January 2025, the court extended the detention of both individuals in the pre-trial detention center, taking into account the request of the investigation submitted by the First May District Court of Bishkek.
The investigation involved a corruption scheme in the State Tax Service, including issues related to excise stamps on alcoholic beverages. The State National Security Committee reported that the damage caused to the state as a result of these actions amounted to 3.2 billion soms. Several high-ranking officials of the State Tax Service were detained and interrogated during the investigation, including the deputy chairman Islambek Kydyrgychev, while Altynbek Abdyvapov was summoned for questioning by the security services.
