Several months ago, the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) revealed that 22 million euros were allocated in 2015 from a lending organization for the implementation of the mentioned project. These funds were intended for the modernization of the material and technical base, the acquisition of special equipment, including bulldozers and garbage trucks, as well as for the design and construction of a new landfill that was supposed to serve the municipal enterprises "Tazalyk" and "Bishkek Sanitary Landfill".
During the audit of state procurement, a preliminary amount of damage caused to the budget was established, which amounted to about 182 million soms.
On January 12, 2025, based on the initiated criminal case related to the crime under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (corruption), operational measures were carried out. As a result, the former Vice Mayor of Bishkek "S.R.A.", the former director of the "Bishkek Sanitary Landfill" "A.A.Z.", as well as the heads of the contracting companies "I.V.R." and "A.N.B." were detained. All of them have been placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB of the Kyrgyz Republic.
