The company's incorrect decision caused public discontent
The Kulikovsky Trading House has become the center of discussions in the Jogorku Kenesh due to its lawsuit against blogger Aitilek Orozbekov.
Deputy Baktyyar Kalpaev expressed the opinion that the company's actions are erroneous. "The discussion of the situation is actively ongoing in society. The blogger has been under house arrest for nine months because he demanded to be served in the state language," he noted, addressing the representative of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, Umutkan Konkubaev, with a question about the legality of such actions.
Konkubaev replied that an analysis of the documents is necessary for comments.
Kalpaev emphasized the importance of respect for the state language: "In our country, there are laws aimed at the development of the Kyrgyz language. The President speaks it at international forums, and the Head of the State National Security Committee calls on investors to use Kyrgyz. Companies like yours should support this and train their employees," he added.
It is worth noting that the incident began when Orozbekov asked to be served in the Kyrgyz language at one of the establishments of the Kulikovsky Trading House. In response, the company filed a lawsuit against him. Public opinion is divided: some consider the blogger's actions unacceptable, while others believe he did not violate the law and are calling for a boycott of the company's products.
Aitilek Orozbekov is a content creator who actively makes videos demanding service in the state language. In November 2024, he was detained on charges of inciting a violent seizure of power. In January 2025, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek found him guilty under part 2 of article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic and imposed a fine of 70,000 soms. The blogger himself did not admit his guilt.
