The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Edil Baisalov, characterized the disruptions in the supply of medications as a management failure. At the meeting of the Ministry of Health dedicated to the results of 2025, he emphasized that by 2026, there should be zero tolerance for such incidents, especially concerning life-saving drugs.

He noted that the effectiveness of healthcare should be assessed based on the real changes experienced by patients. "Our work is not measured by reports and plans, but by how the people feel about the availability of medicines, doctors, and the functioning of medical equipment," he added.

In 2025, the implementation of the state program "Healthy Person - Prosperous Country" continued, along with activities within the 2030 agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals in healthcare. The sector's budget increased to 52.4 billion soms, and it is expected to reach at least 130 billion soms by 2030.

The Cabinet highlights key achievements such as the construction and major repairs of medical institutions, infrastructure upgrades, acquisition of medical equipment, and development of digital services. An important project was the creation of a medical campus in Bishkek, initiated by a presidential decree.

The meeting also identified areas requiring increased attention in 2026, including maternal and child health, the efficiency of hospitals, accounting and use of medical equipment, as well as uninterrupted supply of medications.

"Disruptions in the supply of medications are a management failure. We must strive for zero tolerance for such situations in 2026, especially regarding life-saving drugs," Baisalov concluded.
