In Kyrgyzstan, there is a shortage of qualified personnel engaged in the support and treatment of children with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other rare diseases. This was reported by Aibek Matkerimov, the First Deputy Minister of Health, during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Labor, Health, Women's Affairs, and Social Issues.

He noted that active discussions are underway with the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA) about the establishment of a new faculty that will focus on training specialists in this field.

Furthermore, Matkerimov emphasized that there are plans to train all family doctors and nurses so that they can timely identify such cases and respond appropriately.

During the committee meeting, information regarding the implementation of the Jogorku Kenesh resolution concerning children with autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy is also being considered.
