The opening ceremony of the event began with speeches by Jaap van Hirdan, the UN Resident Coordinator, and Mandkhai Batsuren, the Director-General of the Department of Multilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They emphasized the importance of preparing a new generation of diplomats and the necessity of involving youth in foreign policy and diplomacy processes, as well as the significance of their opinions within the United Nations.
About 100 people participated in the event, including young diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officers who had served in UN peacekeeping missions, students from the Faculty of International Relations of the National University of Mongolia, and young staff from the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator. During the meetings, issues regarding the role of youth in multilateral cooperation were discussed.
