The Beijing Committee of Science and Technology has announced plans to create 16 data processing centers (DPC) in orbit, at an altitude of approximately 700-800 km above the Earth. This was reported by the Kazinform agency, citing information from Xinhua.

These space complexes will include orbital computing platforms, nodes for information relay, as well as ground control systems, which will enable the creation of a distributed infrastructure for efficient data processing and transmission.

The completion of construction is scheduled for 2035. The development of an experimental satellite, which will serve as the basis for future data centers, has been successfully completed. Its launch is planned for late 2025 or early 2026.

An innovative consortium has been established to implement this project, which includes 24 organizations from the production chain, led by the Beijing Institute of Space Technology Astro-future.
