Roskomnadzor has confirmed the information about the blocking of SnapChat, a popular photo and video sharing application. This became known through the DW agency.
According to reports, on December 4, the Russian agency cited facts of recruiting criminals and fraud occurring through this application as the main reasons for making this decision.
It is known that the measures for blocking were initiated back in October of this year.
Roskomnadzor noted that, according to law enforcement agencies, SnapChat is used for organizing terrorist acts and recruiting perpetrators, as well as for committing fraudulent actions against citizens of Russia.
