On the morning of March 28, the Israel Defense Forces announced that they had detected a missile launch from Yemeni territory, and the projectile was successfully intercepted. This incident marked the first case in which Yemeni Houthis struck in the ongoing conflict between Israel and the U.S. against Iran.

On the eve of this event, the Houthis declared their readiness for direct military intervention on Iran's side in the event of further escalation of the situation. Later, they confirmed their responsibility for the missile strike, specifying that they targeted "sensitive military sites" in southern Israel.

According to information from the Associated Press, the area of Be'er Sheva, located near the Israeli nuclear center in Dimona, was threatened. Reuters emphasizes that the official involvement of the Houthis in the conflict could lead to further escalation of the war in the region.

Western media note that the active actions of the Houthis could increase threats to shipping in the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait and the Red Sea. During the previous conflict between Israel and Hamas, the group had already carried out attacks on commercial vessels in this area, creating problems for one of the world's important maritime routes.
