According to preliminary data, the senior operative of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Talas District Police Department, known as T.R.Z., had been extorting money from a local resident for a long time, threatening him with criminal liability.
On February 21, GKNB operatives and employees of the Internal Investigations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained the suspect when he received part of a bribe amounting to 100,000 soms.
At present, the detainee has been placed in a temporary detention facility. Investigative activities are ongoing to identify other possible accomplices in the crime.
