As part of a criminal case initiated under Article 343 ("Extortion of a Bribe") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, on January 13, police captain J.A.Z. from the Jayil district was arrested. He was caught red-handed while receiving 150,000 soms during a joint operation with the Internal Investigations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He is currently in a temporary detention facility.
The investigation established that this police officer demanded money to stop criminal prosecution.
