According to the investigation materials, on January 3, 2026, employees of the Uzgen Department of Internal Affairs, taking advantage of their official position, carried out the illegal detention of two men. They were taken to the Kurshab police station without proper procedural documentation. As a result of the use of physical force against the detainees, one of them sustained serious bodily harm, as confirmed by medical experts — the victim was diagnosed with a closed traumatic brain injury, contusion, and cerebral edema.
As part of the criminal proceedings, three police officers were detained on suspicion of committing crimes under Article 130 Part 3 Item 2 and Article 338 Part 2 Item 4 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic: S. Kh., I. u. K., and A. A., who have been placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB. Investigative actions are ongoing.
The GKNB urges citizens to actively report cases of abuse of power, misuse of official position, and other offenses by law enforcement officers.
