A corruption scheme has been uncovered in the Ministry of Defense, as reported by the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).

During the investigation, based on Articles 343 Part 1 ("Extortion of a Bribe") and 346 Part 1 ("Official Forgery") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, it was revealed that a graduate of the D. Asanov Kyrgyz National Military Lyceum, Z.A.E., scored 108 points on the Unified National Test (ORT), which does not allow him to enroll in a university.

The investigation suggests that during the preparation of documents for enrollment, the ORT results were altered and indicated as 129 points. This allowed the young man to enroll in the university. The applicant's mother, D.N.A., reached an agreement through serviceman K.S.A. with Major A.A.A., who was responsible for admissions at the Ministry of Defense's State University, to ensure her son's enrollment. For the services rendered, the servicemen received $3,500, the intermediary received 40,000 soms, and the major received 45,000 soms. In total, the amount was $4,500.

The First May District Court decided to remand the major in custody at the pre-trial detention center (SIZO-1) until February 11, 2026.

As part of the investigation, the GKNB, together with the Military Prosecutor's Office, continues to identify other participants in this crime.
