In the Chui region, employees of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) detained an investigator from the Jail district police department, suspected of receiving a bribe of 150,000 soms for terminating a criminal case.
The detention took place as part of a joint operation with the Internal Security Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, aimed at combating corruption in law enforcement agencies and state structures in the region.
According to the agency's information, extortion was uncovered during operational investigative activities. On January 13, 2026, police captain J.A.Z., working in the investigative department of the Jail district police, was detained while receiving the specified amount of money by security service employees. A case has been registered in pre-trial proceedings for signs of a crime under Article 343 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The detainee has been placed in the temporary detention facility of the GKNB.
Currently, additional operational investigative actions are ongoing to identify other possible accomplices.
