On December 29, a 38-year-old resident of the village of Poltavka, J. A., reported to the police department of the Jayil district that her brother, 42-year-old J. S., attempted to take the life of their mother, 73-year-old J. M., on the night of December 28 to 29. According to the woman, he tried to suffocate her with a pillow while she was sleeping, and when she resisted, he struck her several times on the body.
This incident was recorded, after which a criminal case was initiated under part 1 of Article 138 "Torture" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to police information, the suspect's correspondence with his wife on WhatsApp contained threats against their mother, including intentions to kill her.
J. S. was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. The district court chose a preventive measure in the form of a two-month arrest.
As part of the criminal case, necessary forensic examinations have been appointed, and the investigation is ongoing.
