An officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was detained in Talas on suspicion of fraud related to the illegal acquisition of funds from a Turkish citizen. This was reported by the press center of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).
According to available information, in April 2025, SVR officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Talas region E.M.A. unlawfully acquired $35,500, deceiving Turkish citizen H.K., with whom he established a trusting relationship.
To carry out his criminal plan, the suspect made an agreement with the foreign investor to cultivate and plant valuable herbaceous plants of the "Solanum" genus, the cost of which is $3,000 per kilogram, with the intention of subsequent export to Turkey. As a result, he unlawfully took possession of the transferred funds.
In October 2025, the investor filed a complaint with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, demanding action against the police officer for fraud. However, the investigative authorities, without conducting the necessary checks and actions involving the foreigner, decided to refuse to initiate a criminal case in the interests of the officer.
On January 27, 2026, the Turkish citizen again appealed to the GKNB requesting an investigation into this incident. As a result, the prosecutor's office transferred the previously collected materials to the investigative authorities of the GKNB.
On February 24, 2026, E.M.A. was detained in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Talas Department of Internal Affairs.
