The commission has been tasked with addressing current issues related to the conflict in the park, as well as defining its boundaries. Following this, it is expected to present its findings to the president for approval.
This decision was made with the aim of enhancing the effectiveness of measures for the preservation and development of parks in Bishkek.
- Last year, the Bishkek city hall announced its intention to restore the boundaries of Atatürk Park to their 1992 state, which could have required the demolition of several residential buildings. So far, there have been no official reports from the city hall regarding a compromise reached between the municipal authorities and local residents, nor on how this issue was resolved.
In October 2025, Vice Mayor Azamat Kadyrov stated that the city hall expects to receive 500 million soms as a result of agreements with the owners of houses located in Atatürk Park. A Fund for the Development of Green Zones in Bishkek has been established to manage these funds, with a special account opened. The collected money will be directed towards the reconstruction of Atatürk Park and the development of residential areas in the city, the vice mayor clarified.
