Tumanbaev noted that the total number of training hours will increase to 384, whereas previously the practical part consisted of only 40 hours.
The updated program includes the introduction of six new subjects, which will be announced after its approval.
“Starting from the 11th grade, driver training will become mandatory for school students. However, if a graduate does not intend to obtain a driver's license, they are not required to take the exam, but they must familiarize themselves with the traffic rules and the basics of vehicle control. Adults will also be able to undergo training at driving schools. The main goal of this reform is to improve the training level of future drivers and reduce the number of road traffic accidents, which remain among the highest in our region,” added the Chief of Staff of the President.
According to information from the State Center for Vehicle Registration and Technical Inspection, the current training program for category B includes 222 hours: 186 hours of theory and 36 hours of practice, while for category BC it includes 340 hours: 286 hours of theory and 54 hours of practice.
