As part of the inspection of the state of wastewater treatment facilities across the country, the Ministry of Natural Resources has formed an interdepartmental working group led by the First Deputy Minister, Bolot Dzhusupbekov. The press service of the ministry reported that the main goal of this initiative is to assess the current condition of the facilities and their efficiency, as well as to identify the necessary steps for modernization.

From November 27 to 28, the working group conducted inspections of wastewater treatment facilities in cities such as Shopokov, Kara-Balta, Kant, Tokmok, and Orlovka. Experts evaluated the technical condition of the facilities, the degree of wear and tear of the equipment, compliance with environmental standards, and the potential for increasing productivity.

Municipal enterprises provided detailed information about the technologies used for wastewater treatment, existing repair needs, and the main problems they face during operation. The Department of Environmental Monitoring conducted sampling of wastewater before and after the treatment process to assess the effectiveness of the systems.

As a result of the inspection, it became clear that most wastewater treatment facilities require equipment replacement, modernization of work processes, and more careful monitoring of wastewater quality. The ministry is developing additional measures to improve the condition of the facilities and enhance environmental safety.
