New Rules for Foreigners' Stay in Kyrgyzstan Come into Effect. Explanation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic
These changes are aimed at streamlining migration processes, making the conditions for the stay of foreign citizens more transparent, and adapting national legislation to the priorities of state migration policy.
According to the new rules, citizens of certain countries can now stay in Kyrgyzstan without a visa for 30 days, and there is no need to obtain documents confirming the right to stay during each 60-day period from the date of entry.
After this period, foreigners must either leave the country or obtain the necessary permits, such as a visa, residence permit, or temporary stay permit, in accordance with the legislation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that these changes do not affect the conditions established by international treaties and agreements, nor do they apply to those arriving in Kyrgyzstan for work, education, or other activities requiring special permits.
The agency recommends that both foreign citizens and host parties consider the new rules when planning trips and strictly adhere to the established stay periods.
