At a press conference held on January 15 in Bishkek, Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev announced that over 128,000 Kyrgyz citizens were removed from the registry of controlled individuals last year. He noted that many citizens have already checked their data and organized their documents if their names appeared on the list.

In addition, for those who have not yet had the chance to do so, an additional opportunity was provided to register and prepare the necessary paperwork.

“Government agencies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have done everything possible; however, some citizens still remain in the registry and may be deported. We cannot physically accompany all migrants to the relevant authorities. Nevertheless, the Russian side is considering easing its policy, given the availability of vacant jobs. The return of citizens to Kyrgyzstan will indeed be beneficial: we have many large projects that also require a workforce. Here, they will be able to find work alongside those who are working in Russia,” stated the Foreign Minister.
