During the session of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Bolo Ibrahimov raised the issue of the reasons for the increased training periods for drivers. He inquired why the training process could take up to 10–12 months.

In response to this question, the director of the State Center for Registration of Motor Vehicles and Driver Personnel, Tynchbek Saidov, explained that the decision to extend the training periods was made based on proposals from an interdepartmental working group and aimed at improving the quality of training. These changes are due to the necessity of raising the level of driver preparation and enhancing road safety.

Saidov added that the focus will be on improving driving culture, as well as developing drivers' resilience to psychophysiological stress and stressful situations.

However, Ibrahimov expressed doubt about the appropriateness of such long training periods, pointing out that no country in the world applies similar practices. In his opinion, the main reasons for road traffic accidents are the corrupt schemes that existed in the area of obtaining driver's licenses, rather than the insufficient duration of training.

"People were not just failing to undergo proper training; they were actually buying driver's licenses. The state is to blame for this, not those who are now being forced to undergo lengthy training," noted Ibrahimov.

The deputy also emphasized that it is necessary to reconsider this approach, as he believes it is absolutely incorrect.
