Fines will also be imposed for concealing violations
As part of a new bill initiated by Deputy Marlen Mamataliyev, it was proposed in the Jogorku Kenesh to tighten environmental standards for vehicles by introducing fines for owners without catalytic converters.
Car owners will be required to have functioning catalytic converters, particulate filters, and other devices that reduce the toxicity of exhaust gases. Checking these systems will become mandatory during vehicle technical inspections.
In case of non-compliance, the operation of such vehicles will be prohibited, and violators will face fines ranging from 10,000 to 35,000 soms.
Additionally, penalties are provided for both drivers and diagnostic centers for providing false documents or concealing environmental malfunctions.
